Painter Kirsten Jones
Kirsten creates paintings inspired by nature, favourite places and objects with a history. She captures the essence of her subjects using fresh modern colours, evocative mark-making and expressive brushstrokes.
Tiny details are observed and imagined, combined and layered within each piece, each has a story waiting to be read and interpreted by the viewer.
Every piece tells a story and the narrative can be traced through the vintage text, maps, stamps and found fragments often collaged within Kirsten’s work.
A full-time Artist, Kirsten trained in Fine Art in Newcastle Upon Tyne, she has a studio by the river in Henley on Thames. Kirsten’s original paintings and limited edition prints are widely collected, she exhibits her work in selected galleries throughout the U.K.
In addition to her ongoing pieces, Kirsten accepts commissions, often inspired by an individual and their life or a special moment in time.
Works are created on paper or gesso board, using washes of acrylic and ink over collaged surfaces. Limited edition prints use archival quality inks on etching paper. Limited edition prints are available rolled, mounted or framed. Rolled prints are posted free worldwide, please get in touch to arrange postage for framed and mounted.
