Painter Diane Haddon
Diane works with oil on board, on location and in her studio at home in Penzance. For the past two years, Diane has been working on pieces related to her frequent walks towards St.Anthony’s; depicting the pines and the dappled light as well as the view through the trees to the sea.
Diane has a way of using very deliberate blocks of colour to construct her images, marks that are reminiscent of Cezanne, tonal marks of shades of blue and green and purple shadow and light pink light glimpses through the canopy.
After graduating from art school in Hull, Diane spent time working in Cyprus and her heightened sense of colour and talent for capturing light in her paintings was perhaps developed. Her recent works on Cornish gardens are great examples of this colour work.
